- Soft surface (rug or blanket to protect parts)
Step-by-Step Bed Frame Assembly
1. Unbox and Lay Out the Parts
Start by unpacking all the pieces. Lay them flat on the floor and check the parts list inside your box. Make sure nothing is missing and do not remove any packaging until you are ready to use it.
Tip: Place the parts on a soft surface like a rug to avoid scratches.
2. Attach the Headboard to the Side Rails
Position the headboard upright against a wall. Attach the side rails to the headboard by sliding the side rails into the brackets on the headboard. Make sure both rails are level before fully tightening.
3. Connect the Footboard
Now attach the footboard to the opposite ends of the side rails. This completes the outer frame. Align the corners carefully and tighten each bolt gradually, ensuring everything is square and balanced before moving on.
4. Add the Centre Support (If Included)
Most Double, King, and Super King beds will have a centre support bar. This slots into place across the middle and may include one or more legs underneath for extra stability. Screw these in securely so the middle of the bed stays firm under weight.
5. Secure the Slats or Platform Base
Lay your slats / solid bottom Lids (funkybedz only supplies bed frames with solid bottom lids and not slats) across the bed frame, spacing them evenly. Some designs include clips or a central spine for added support. If your bed has a platform top (solid base), it may come in one or two parts - these usually slot or screw into place.

Final Checks
- Tighten all bolts fully but avoid over-tightening
- Press down gently on each part of the frame to check for movement
- Ensure everything feels solid and secure
- Clean up packaging and place your mattress carefully
